Working in an architecture firm is great for inspiration however sometimes it can be all to easy to be distracted by the wonderful samples and constant brochures!!

Unfortunately my holidays are almost up! I have had a great time to catch up on all those little projects, do some branding, work on my website, among the many other crafty things I wanted to do... Unfortunately cleaning was in their too :(

Finished work for our nice 3 week break... and what better way to spend it back in Queensland with the family. Had a lovely week starting at the bunya mountains going on lovely bush walks, playing pool in our lovely big shack and feeding the birds out of our hands. We then headed to the coast to get some sun, surf and sand and the weather couldn't be more perfect! Here's some happy snaps!

Wow the weeks are just flying by! So started a new job, babysitting my lovely cousins and exploring tasmania hasn't really left me much time to get on my computer! But have some new pictures and wonderful things I have found along the way! :) Enjoy

Who has time?

I wish I had time to do many more projects, explore, create and relax. Time seems to be going quite quickly these days with Christmas only 8 weeks til Christmas!! But I love this photograph and thought it was appropriate to how I'm feeling. My sister and I had great fun painting her face and to get a nice shot.

So a "fun" trip on the Spirit of Tasmania and removalists... and the joys of unpacking we are here and settled! Tasmania is a beautiful place and can't wait to explore everything! It is all so close and don't think I will be able to put my camera down! But here are a few shots just from where we live (Lenah Valley) and around.

Last days of Traralgon... So I was lucky enough to have a wonderful road trip to the beach with one of my good friends! We enjoyed the lovely sun after the last very cool winter but nothing compared to where I was heading! I love to take photos and especially with the LemeLeme app on the iPhone!

The good news just keeps coming and coming! I had entered 3 designs in the StudentArt (StArt) competition a few months ago and to my suprise received an email saying I was longlisted... then a couple of weeks later go the exciting news that i was 1 of 12 finalist.... over the moon at this because we all received a $200 gift voucher i then received another email saying i was one of the higher finalist and receive Adobe design CS5! I dont think i could wipe the smile off my face for days! The designs are then made into gift cards and sold at the Co-op bookshop. They are hopefully released in August so make sure you check them all out!

So back up in sunny queensland for a few weeks! A nice change from freezing victoria! but have been lucky enough to get some work experience with the lovely people at Black Canvas... it has been wonderful so far and a couple of more weeks to come! Its been great to learn and to see how things actual run in the real world of graphic design and can't wait to finish this degree in October.

A lovely little suprise turned up in the mail this morning... I had recently gone in a twinings competition for and australian style tea and had to come up with the packaging however they had contacted me to say I didn't win but I did get a lovely letter and present today saying I was
short listed and they were impressed with the quality and amount of thought put in to my design. They enclosed a gorgeous gift - a wooden twinings tea box with a selection of teas! :)

I'm very excited it's uni holidays but I seem to be busier than ever! Although the uni assignment is over I'll still try to promote what our team did this semester... We created a magazine about art design and life... We were given the name howler to work with and had to publish, promote and market this magazine. Anyway you can check it all out on

It's that time when my computer needs a good clean up and sort out all the junk (old assignments) and rubbish that's filling it up! It was quite funny to see past highschool and uni assignments and I'm glad that my studies will soon be over! But just thought I'd share two pics!

who can resist looking at famous graffiti artist bansky. For uni i have been researching for a mag spread whether graffiti is considered more as art or vandalism. it has been a debate going on for years and years but it is very interesting researching to find some truely talented artists.

This swedish illustrators work is amazing... the amount of detail makes the illustrations so interesting to look at. I want to start making my own type just to see what shapes and interesting things the letters become.

here is something else i worked on during the semester... we were to design a red cross poster to appeal to youth and around schools and universities. This is what i came up with... since our generation loves iPods, iPhones and anything 'i' i tried to incorporate this. We dont really like to read so i didnt want to much information and the bold red stands out and gives meaning to the poster.

Well job hunting isn't so fun so procrastination it is! This is what i got up to in the semester -

Collaboration - Point 10 Festival - We made an advertising campaign for a three day festival and this is some of the ideas our group came up with. We created a booklet, tickets, street flags, bus and taxi advertisements, radio and tv ads, billboards, posters, websites and made facebook and twitter accounts in order to promote this festival. Here are just a few pictures of some of the work.

I won a competition!!!! I won tickets for both days of Melbourne Semi-Permanent!! So off to Melbourne on the weekend! So very excited!! There are many wonderful designers and artist and should be a good weekend!

wow what a busy couple of weeks! just finished my last essay for the semester! bit excited! made a another sale on made it, celebrated my 21st, moved into the new house, and managed to get some design assignments done in there as well as have a bit of a social life! Have been doing group work in one of our classes and looking at advertising for festivals which is pretty fun... will post some pictures soon of our progress.

so this year i changed to graphic design and multimedia - i started first year graphic design classes which entailed making 4 stamps and a cover for a collection -

This was my first attempt in illustrator so i was fairly happy with the result
